What is a stress test or exercise test?
A stress test or ergometry is used to diagnose angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction, cardiac disorders such as arrhythmias that appear during physical activity and are not evident at rest. It is done by recording the electrocardiogram while the patient exerts an effort, on a stationary bike or running on a treadmill.
The duration of the test is usually 10 to 20 minutes
