What is a supra-aortic trunk Doppler ultrasound?

The Eco-Doppler of the supra-aortic trunks (TSA) allows the study of the arteries that supply the brain (carotid and vertebral). It is useful for the prevention of stroke, since it allows to rule out atheromatous lesions or atheroma plaques and allows a hemodynamic assessment and study of the blood flow to the brain.

In preventive check-ups, the vascular study is complemented with an Echo-Doppler at the level of the popliteal arteries of the legs, to analyze stenosis and possible varicose veins.
